One of the things that drives me crazy is when people make decisions for me based on what they assume I think. Companies do it all the time.  “Oh, this new pink bag will appeal to our female customers (UGH!)” or “this new social network will get all the college kids involved.” (how I hate the reference to college students as “kids!”)  For any organization, being disconnected from your base of those engaging with you is a recipe for guaranteed disaster. For example, if you are involved with a student organization you need to know your members’ interests just like Google wants to know not just IF you are using their applications but also HOW you are using their applications.

BSU is on a similar road this month as we work to encourage others to respond to invitations to participate in the National Survey of Student Engagement. For our readers who are freshmen or seniors… you have that chance this week!

A reminder email is going to be going out on 3/15 that reminds you of the importance of responding to the National Survey of Student Engagement. 

This is the way we measure how you, as students, are interacting with various things the university offers ranging from involvement in student organizations to how often you study. If we can learn more about your life on campus, we can better support programs and services that will better meet your needs.
