Hey everyone! This last weekend was a little light with programming. It was a long weekend, so it definitely gave us some time to relax and focus on what’s coming up for the rest of the semester. Unfortunately, the beautiful end to last week is no longer with us, and once again we must march outside in our winter coats. My English professor even told our class it would remain cold until late May. Thanks for the encouragement, professor.
Anyway, there’s some exciting stuff coming up if you didn’t already know. This week is PC’s week long T-shirt Decorating Contest in the RCC Foyer, which will culminate in Friday’s Comedy & Karaoke Show at 8PM in Crimson Dining Hall. T-shirt’s that are made this week will be judged there and prizes will be given to the winner. I can only hope the t-shirt I made today is worthy of a prize.
Also, Student Weekend Activities Team (S.W.A.T.) will be hosting the 83rd Annual Academy Awards this Sunday, February 27th at 7PM in the Dunn Conference Room. Come watch all your favorite movie and TV stars vie for the award of their dreams while enjoying delicious dessert foods! We’ll also be putting on a little trivia contest with prizes involved!
We’re planning an exciting rest of the semester so make sure to stay up to date with both PC and SWAT.

Well folks, it’s looking like a quiet weekend out there in Bridgewater, but don’t be discouraged! If you happen to be heading home for the long weekend and you live near Springfield, you can check out the Men and Women’s Track Division III Championships, held at Springfield College starting at 11am on the 19th. If you live outta state, in ohhhh say Vermont, why don’t you show your pride for our Bears on the Swimming & Diving Team as they embark on their way to (hopefully) a Division III Championship win! Both the Men and Women will be participating at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center (located in White River Junction, VT) begining at 10am all weekend! OR both the Men and Women’s Basketball teams will be sporting at MCLA this Saturday, the Men will be playing at 3pm and the Women at 1pm. These events are a great way to get out in your community (or take a road trip to another) to not only support our Bears, but to show your school pride!
Last weekend we had a great Crimson Trivia Night, with Kinetic Edge winning the first game about everything Valentine’s Day related, and The League Champs taking on 1st in the second game which was focused on Movies (quotes from various 80′s, comedy’s and random movies). What is your favorite trivia game? Any suggestions for our next Trivia Challenge? (Which will be on March 19th, at 7pm in Crimson Dining Hall) Sunday we ended the weekend with the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, Lady Antebellum took away the most awards, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year, which I wasn’t too impressed about (aka not really a LadyA fan…). Of course it wouldn’t be an awards show if Lady Gaga didn’t win anything! I was really excited to see Eminem win some awards (2 out of the 10 he was nominated for) especially since he’s been ‘out of the game’ for a while… But he seriously should have had more than that! What was your favorite Grammy moments/awards?
Other than that, this weekend might be a great chance to visit with family and friends, get caught up on school work (or maybe even get a head start?!) Temperatures are starting to feel a little warmer (dare I say like spring?! It might be a little early for that..) We’re looking at 40′s-50′s for the weekend… Maybe it could be a good weekend to go Skiing, Snowboarding, Tubing, Ice Skating, or even to walk around in Boston. Whatever you do this weekend don’t waste it away, get out there and enjoy it! We’ll see you next weekend Bridgewater!
What to look for next weekend: Oscar’s 02/27, 8pm – Dunn Conference Room. We will be showing the Awards portion of show, but the Red Carpet starts at 6:30 if you want to catch that for yourself. We’re sure to have some fun trivia/games planned for the commercial breaks so make sure you stop by!
See you next week!
Hey guys! Hope you had a good weekend and enjoyed all of the events, I know I did!
So this weekend is looking pretty exciting as well, I know it’s only Wednesday but you should start getting pumped now!
Friday night, September 26th, we’re going to kick-off the weekend with the Student Spotlight Series, sponsered by Program Committee, in Crimson Cafè at 9pm, like always. This week we have Matthew Sowersby, who will be playing guitar and singing. He’s a first-year student here at Bridgewater, and he has a great musical background with tons of awards, if you don’t believe me you can google him! So you should stop by, grab a late dinner or snack… I personally enjoy the Caeser Salad on flatbread with a Dirty Banana Split Smoothie… but that’s just me, you can get what you want, and of course, enjoy Matt’s musical talents. And if that wasn’t enough to entice you into coming to the event, you may get lucky and be seranaded by him
Saturday night, September 27th, spend the day watching the Red Soxs take on the Yankees and then relax with an exciting game of Scene It! in the Dunn Conference room, at 7pm. We also have other X-Box 360 games, like Madden and Rockband, so stop by with a few friends and challenge them to a battle of the best, to decide who really is the greatest x-boxer. ANDDD who doesn’t like free food? We’ve got nachos and all the best toppings to munch on in between rounds.
Sunday, September 28th, Campus Rec will be sponsering a Home Run Derby, on the softball field at 4pm. Come compete with Bridgewater’s finest, or just cheer on your friends!
Even more excited about the weekend? I know I am
